Asked me to name my weaknesses

"At times I could show more empathy"- I explained in my last role, I had over 40 locations stretched over the entire state of AZ, so employees did not always get the one on one time and personal attention as often as they wanted. These were hourly field sales associates. (In retrospect, I'm not sure this interviewer understood the role of a DM in a specialty retail and sales field- literally 1 week out of every month, you are teaching fullscale multi-day sales, product knowledge, skin physiology, customer service, operational classes in different cities for various new hires and affiliate employees. Because it was a test market, 10 hours a week is spent in corporate meetings covering test variable and results, 32 hours a week is in store working side by side employees (about 8 employees get one on ones each week if there is not an out of state meeting that week)- 8-12 hours a week is spent on reports, payroll and various other administration. Plus all the time traveling in between. It's very complex role that is much more than overseeing facilities operations for 9 locations- perhaps I should have explained this more, but I was never asked to elaborate or explain my role or duties in my previous positions). He asked me for another weakness: Being more mindful and patient when introducing new ideas- was asked for an example- When I launched my market of 40 locations I had 3 weeks to hire 40 employees and the current hiring process we were using was hindering our success- I made a detailed case to the CEO whom I was working directly with throughout the launch on why it was not getting us the results and highlighted further complications in general for future hiring in our national markets. He agreed and we changed the process. This damaged a relationship with another manager that had created the process. In retrospect, I would have been much more mindful and introduced my suggestions differently, but at the same time this was the largest launch in history and we were on a time crunch. I was then asked how I damaged the company with my weakness. And I responded that I did not damage the company at all. We ended up filling all roles within a week and a half and the company dropped the previous policy all together nationwide. But that it damaged the relationship with that manager.
