A hub is a Layer 1 (Physical) networking device that connects multiple devices, broadcasting all incoming data to every port. The OSI model is a 7-layer framework for network communication: Physical (bits/cables), Data Link (frames/MAC), Network (packets/IP), Transport (segments/TCP), Session (connections), Presentation (formatting), and Application (user interface).
