I start off by first identifying the problem. From there, I usually make a list of probable causes and begin testing the theory to determine the exact cause. It's important once I do that to establish a plan of action to resolve the problem and implement the solution. Once that's completed, I make sure the system is functioning properly and more than likely I document the process for future reference.
