I was appointed to serve as a public defender lawyer for my first capital [potential death sentence case for my client who was charged with murdering his girlfriend, and who was being tried as a potential death sentence. I defended him and the jury convicted him, but with a LIFE sentence, not a death sentence. Thank God for that sentence of live and for the next 5 consecutive LIFE sentences, without losing a single client to a death penalty. That included 3 defendants who were low I.Q. and/or insane, none of which were sentenced to death. Ten years LATER the U.S. Supreme Court RULED that low-I.Q. or "retarded" defendants COULD NOT receive death sentences. but at the time my clients were tried, they COULD have received death sentences. However, none of my clients were ever given DEATH SENTENCES. THAN GOD ALMIGHTY!

Saving six murderers from death penalties were among my highest criminal achievements, along with taking an appeal for a homicide by motor vehicle accident in which I did not try the district court conviction, but was appointed to Appeal the lower court conviction for vehicular homicide rendered when the trial court allowed empty beer cans to be admitted into evidence in a case where the Defendant's blood alcohol was at a minimum blood level alcohol level, but not at a level high enough to PRESUME guilt, and also allowed old empty cans of beer not consumed by the defendant alone and not relevant or proven to have been consumed any time recent to the accident when the person killed rode his bicycle after dark into a state highway and into my client's pathway. The Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Dixon presiding, reversed the conviction and the resulting 7 year sentence, achieving his release from prison. My career as a lawyer also set six precedents in insurance civil law, wherein my clients received millions of dollars when money was worth a lot more than today! God has been with me all 50 years, and I have outlived my parents and my brother and almost all of my cousins. God and His son, Jesus, have been Great to me. My uncles Milous L. Breland, Herbert Breland, Ottis Breland and others worked for Gaylord Container Corp, Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Bogalusa and Bastrop, Louisiana, My Great Uncle Ansil Simmons was a graduate of Tulane Law School in New Orleans and practiced in Napoleonville, LA until his untimely death in a car accident in the 1930s. I was born August 3, 1944, in Franklinton, LA 70438. What are your questions for me?
