I've used this question myself in many interviews, so I was ready for it. I began to explain what I had been doing the past year and then the 15 years before that. Unfortunately, the VP interviewing me had not reviewed my resume or cover letter, and she didn't seem interested in listening to me speak, so I don't think the question was effective.
