- Analysis and design of the test by examining the software and other necessary documents prepared regarding the software, defining exit criteria for tests

- Defining test strategy (both technical and functional) and methodology

- Adaptation of the tests with respect to the software (which test design techniques to be applied: static tests, dynamic tests)

- Application of the tests and reporting the results (filling bug report)

- Checking the fixed bugs and controlling whether the closed cases caused any other problem

- Collaborating with software team and holding regular meetings

- Evaluating exit criteria

- Finalizing the tests and writing a test report

Through questions like this, interviewers are mostly trying to test your skillset (and its relevance to the role) as robustly as possible, so be prepared for multiple offshoots and followups.
