I initially mentioned that I felt it was too early to discuss salary requirements and that I would like to have a chance to do an in-person interview to meet the team and learn a little more about the culture an other benefits provided by Trek. The recruiter proceeded to give me the salary range for the position and asked if I would be ok with that. It was quite a bit lower than my market worth so I disclosed what my current base salary was and mentioned that I was flexible and willing to negotiate a salary once I had a chance to learn more about the company, benefits, team I would be working with and position responsibilities.
