Incident resolution occurs when the root cause of the incident is identified and the issue is fixed or mitigated, restoring service or functionality to normal operation. Incident closure is when you have completed all post incidents action items. For example making a customers whole, code changes to prevent reoccurrence, completing post mortem and syncing with QA to develop regression tests.
