I said "It depends" which is the correct answer. Ther purpose of the question is to see if you can think on your feet. If you just blurted out your favorite color, you're not really actively listening. Meaning you are simply listening and answering versus thinking about the reason the person is asking the question. You need to actively listen to the question the customer is asking so you can try to understand where they are coming from and keep control of the conversation.
