I was honest and told him that I had not had a sale job before. However, when I mentioned later that I was a Eagle Scout the Sales Director (with whom I was interviewing) told me of how his best Sales Manager, as a young woman, was the top seller of Girl Scout cookies in her town. That reminded me that I had sold Christmas trees as a Boy Scout. In the interview, and later as a Sales Director, he was always focused on how and when people make a sale.
