I understand that. However, I wore a similar outfit to the first interview and nothing was said. I also understand telling me what he thought of my clothes. Once. I acknowledge his concerns and the fact that I made a mistake. I assured him that I would happily dress in a more formal way. If that is what cost me the job, fair enough, my mistake. What I objected to was the fact that he brought it up repeatedly between complaining about online shopping. Once is enough. More than that and the person conducting the interview's objective appears to be less about filling a position and more about making the interviewee feel inferior. Also, instead of complaining about the younger generation and how online shopping is killing the store, perhaps ask questions of the interviewee, or at the very least listen to what the person has to say on the subject, some ways they feel would be effective to make the shopping experience one that could be more appealing than shopping online. I tried to put forward things like this, but he was too focused on why the store is in trouble, and why my outfit was unprofessional. This is not sour grapes. After we hit the hour mark and I had been given two fashion lessons and a run down of what this man thought about human nature, I knew I was not a good fit for this store. I simply wanted to put my experience out there so someone else could 1. Be more prepared than I was (again my mistake) and 2. Understand what they might be in store for when they interview.
