Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst with expertise in credit card payment processing to support the analysis, design, and delivery of payment solutions. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering, product, compliance, and operations teams to gather requirements, improve payment workflows, and support the implementation of secure, compliant payment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and functional requirements for credit card payment processing solutions.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, process flows, data mappings, and technical documentation.
• Analyze end-to-end payment processes including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, tokenization, fraud prevention, and 3D Secure (3DS).
• Partner with engineering, product, compliance, risk, operations, and third-party vendors to deliver payment solutions.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), regression testing, defect tracking, and validation activities.
• Ensure solutions comply with PCI-DSS standards, regulatory requirements, and payment industry best practices.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Analyze payment transactions and reporting to identify process improvements, trends, and production issues.
• Support production deployments, post-go-live validation, and payment-related incident resolution.
• Assist with API documentation and integrations between payment gateways, processors, and internal systems.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst experience supporting payment processing platforms.
• Strong understanding of the credit card payments ecosystem, including issuers, acquirers, card networks, gateways, and processors.
• Experience with payment authorization, clearing, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, and dispute workflows.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS requirements, tokenization, and payment security best practices.
• Experience documenting business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mappings.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and the ability to interpret API documentation and JSON/XML payloads.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EMV 3DS, EMV chip, contactless payments, and digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay).
• Knowledge of fraud detection platforms, rules engines, and payment risk management.
• Experience with chargeback and dispute management.
• Familiarity with payment platforms such as Fiserv, FIS, ACI Worldwide, Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, or Cybersource.
• Experience reconciling merchant activity and payment transactions.
• CBAP, PMI-PBA, AAP, or other relevant Business Analysis or payments certifications.
