Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while upholding Thomas Construction’s core values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Track project progress and report updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
• Serve as a liaison between field staff, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Attend project meetings and assist in resolving issues that may arise.
• Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor services.
• Monitor costs and help manage project budgets to avoid overruns.
• Support quality control efforts and ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.
• Participate in site inspections and punch list development.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and uphold company values.

Working Conditions:

• Office and field environment; occasional travel to job sites.
• May require extended hours during peak project phases.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
