Duluth Stove & Fireplace is adding a full time Service Technician at our Duluth, MN location. Experience in a related field is a plus, but EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED for the right candidate, as we will provide training and certification for the successful candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform basic fireplace/hearth product maintenance tasks for existing fireplaces for residential & commercial customers.
• Provide bench tech services for customer in-shop items.
• Manage parts and tools needed for service and repairs.
• Communicate with customers in a clear and professional manner.
• Provide customer service both in person and by phone.
• Contribute to day to day customer service goals and activities.

SKILLS NEEDED:

• High school diploma/GED.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to learn product lines and consultative techniques to recommend products and accessories to customers.
• Technician experience in the fireplace/stove repair or related industry is helpful but will train the right candidate.
• Previous mechanical experience in HVAC, automotive, or other technical mechanical skills will transfer well to this position.
• Comfortable with a variety of hand tools, combined with a mechanical mindset.
• Attention to detail and focus on quality work.
• Ability to make repair or replace decisions with proper training.
• Ability to read job instructions and record materials & activities performed on work orders.
• Ability to maintain both a service-professional and customer focused attitude.
• Contribute to day-to-day customer service goals and activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license with a commercially insurable driving record.
• Must be able to bend, squat, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist and knees to handle, service, and install products.
• Must be able to work on feet and lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.
• Must be comfortable with using computers, tablets, and other technology-based tools
