Dental Hygienist Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, promoting oral health, and creating a comfortable experience for patients of all ages.
In this role, you will perform preventive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining excellent oral health, and work closely with our dentists and clinical team in a modern, patient-focused practice. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, polishing, and preventive treatments.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, recording vital signs, and evaluating oral health.
- Take dental X-rays while following all radiation safety and infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, periodontal care, and preventive treatment options.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Accurately document patient findings, treatment plans, and clinical notes using Dentrix.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Follow OSHA, CDC, and infection control guidelines, including sterilization and aseptic techniques.
- Review documentation for accuracy and assist with appropriate coding when necessary.
- Collaborate with dentists and team members to provide comprehensive, high-quality patient care.
- Help create a welcoming, positive, and comfortable environment for every patient.
Qualifications
- Current state Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
- Proficiency with Dentrix practice management software.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal therapy, and dental terminology.
- Experience providing care for both adult and pediatric patients is preferred.
- Skilled in taking digital dental radiographs.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and maintaining high clinical standards.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required, depending on state requirements).
