About NitinX
NitinX is building regulated payment and settlement rails for digital assets backed 1:1 by allocated physical gold and silver. Verified customers can buy, hold, send, and redeem real metal value through auditable digital infrastructure that we license, operate, and stand behind. We are a small senior team in the Bay Area, backed by committed investors, and we are moving our on-chain stack to Solana.
Why this role
You will be our first engineer dedicated to Solana, and you will own the entire on-chain layer: token architecture, the authority and signing model, treasury and settlement wallets, and customer wallet integration. There is no legacy code to inherit and no committee between you and the design. Your work will be reviewed by external security auditors, insurers, and financial regulators; if building something that has to hold up to that level of scrutiny sounds like a feature rather than a burden, we should talk.
What you will do
- Design and ship our token architecture on Solana using Token-2022 extensions and custom program logic, including mint/burn, freeze, and allow-list controls appropriate for a regulated asset.
- Own the full authority lifecycle: mint, freeze, and upgrade authorities, multisig and HSM/MPC-backed signing, separation of duties, key rotation, and break-glass recovery.
- Build the on-chain side of issuance, redemption, customer transfers, and settlement, including confirmation and finality handling, retries, and reconciliation events against our internal ledger.
- Design customer wallet and account-recovery flows with our product and security team, including passkey and delegated-signing approaches where they help. No custom cryptography required or wanted.
- Own network operations: RPC and indexing strategy, fee management, transaction simulation, monitoring, and incident diagnostics.
- Take the system through external security audit and mainnet launch, with the design documents, threat models, and runbooks to support it.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering with strong production Rust.
- Shipped and operated Solana programs or token infrastructure that handled real value; solid Anchor experience and the ability to debug below the framework.
- Hands-on work with SPL Token or Token-2022 authorities and extensions, and the judgment to weigh extension, upgradeability, and ecosystem-compatibility tradeoffs.
- Experience integrating secure signing or key-management systems and designing controls around privileged operations.
- Clear technical writing; your designs will be read by auditors and examiners, and you write well enough for that to go smoothly.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work with the team in person on a hybrid schedule.
Nice to have
- Token-2022 transfer hooks, permanent delegate, default account state, or verifiable builds.
- WebAuthn/passkeys, secp256r1 verification, session keys, or wallet-recovery architecture.
- Time at a custodian, exchange, stablecoin issuer, tokenized-asset platform, or other regulated fintech.
