Accounting Specialist (AP/AR & General Accounting)

Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This position will support the Accounting Manager and Controller with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and various accounting projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash applications, and collection follow-up
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Review and resolve discrepancies related to vendor and customer accounts
• Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules
• Assist with audits and other compliance-related requests
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial transactions
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Manager and Controller

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 4+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
