Physical Activities:
The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position: to move throughout the facility, including using stairs and conveyor crossovers; lift and carry items up to 20 pounds; stand, sit, and walk for extended periods; use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination; read, write, and enter information accurately; observe workplace activities; and identify sounds related to equipment operation, safety alarms, and potential hazards.
Travel:
Travels to multiple facilities or work sites requiring both single and multiple day stays. Travels to and from multiple facilities or work sites conducting tours and inspections.
Work Environment:
Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position. May work with substances that require special handling Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Work overnight, weekends, and varying shifts. Works at heights. Work indoors for extended periods of time.
Entry Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 1 year experience in an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 3 years experience in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees for multiple departments / areas OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates for multiple departments / areas Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications: 2 years' experience as a Walmart Logistics manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates. Both Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 3 years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees across multiple departments / areas 1 year's experience managing budgets, managing P&L, developing manpower forecasts, and analyzing financial/operational data 1 year's experience in inventory management (e.g., controlling shrink, resolving inventory discrepancies, analyzing data, auditing) 1 year's experience working with Walmart Logistics applications (e.g. Global Logistics Systems (GLS), Trailer Manifest System (TMS), Global Distribution Systems (GDS), IBM CICS (Host)
