About the Role

Cookie Love is a beloved fresh-baked cookie and creemee business located in North

Ferrisburgh. We sell frozen cookie dough and scones through local grocery stores, ship cookie gift

boxes to consumers nationally, and run a popular creemee and cookie window year-round.

The Team Lead acts as the heart of our retail team by helping to guide the day-to-day flow of retail business. This is a key leadership role that helps to oversee and train our team and possesses cross-location and deep product expertise. This role requires someone who leads by example, solves problems on the fly, and keeps the team and store running smoothly no matter how busy it gets. The Team Lead is both the leader and an active member of our retail staff.

Team Lead ResponsibilitiesStore Operations

● Open and close the store, facilitate smooth operation of the shift from start to finish

Product & Stock Management

● Ensure products are stocked and ready at all times

Cleanliness & Store Appearance

● Ensure the inside and outside of the store is always clean and tidy

Customer Service

● Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally

Training & Coverage

● Train staff, including those in the Shift Lead role

Team Coordination & Oversight

● Coordinate tasks across the team and assign tasks to team members

Supplies & Equipment

● Organize and stock supplies and ensure they're accessible to the team

Leadership & Culture

● Serve as the leader that holds the team together through consistent, productive collaboration

What We're Looking For

● Prior experience in food service, retail, or a leadership/supervisory role preferred

● Strong communication skills and comfort giving and receiving feedback

● Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods

● Flexible schedule to work at multiple locations (North Ferrisburgh and Middlebury) and cover shifts as needed (Vermont Cookie Love's hours change seasonally. Evening shifts required in summer & fall. Example shifts may be: 8:00am - 4:00pm, 9:00am-5:00pm, 10:30am-6:30pm, 12:30pm-8:30pm, 1:30pm-9:30pm).

● Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends/evenings as needed

● Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

● Comfortable giving direction and holding team members accountable

● Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Compensation and Benefits
