JOB SUMMARY:
An On-the-Job Support Person (Job Coach) assists an employee with disabilities in learning the skills needed on-the-job. The goal is to facilitate the employee’s learning and connections in the workplace and to promote the greatest level of independence and natural supports possible. This will happen at various employment sites in the community. The approach is individualized for each employee being supported.
The Job Coach is responsible for evaluating, training, and supervising clients in a variety of tasks in community employment settings. The Job Coach participates in team efforts to develop and implement various community work opportunities and individual program plans. The Job Coach will implement client individual program plans and train clients to acquire their maximum skill level in the various work settings. The Job Coach assists supervisor as needed in the daily operations and individual program plan implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Evaluates, trains, and supervises clients in variety of job skills, in an integrated community setting. Carries out training and related activities using approved methods necessary and appropriate to assist clients in attaining objectives of their individual program plans. Collects data and documentation pertaining to the client’s program and services.
2. Ensures that policies and procedures, with regards to safety and supported employment rules are followed both in the facility and out in the community.
3. Oversees and trains clients under the direction of the Director of Program Services. Monitors client’s productivity, behaviors, and quality of work. Facilitates and strengthens natural supports.
4. Assists clients with safety and personal needs through out program day, such as arrival/departure, breaks, lunch time, etc., following assigned tasks and schedules.
5. Demonstrates and uses various training techniques and assists with implementation of program plans.
6. Maintain and model positive, professional working relationships with consumers and employers.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
