Architectural Manufacturing – Salt Lake City, Utah
About Us
Unlimited Designs is a custom architectural producer specializing in GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) and other cast materials. We design and fabricate highly detailed, complex components, building our own molds in-house using advanced CNC technology. Our shop features three 5-axis CNC machines, including one DMS and two Motion Master moving-table systems.

We are expanding our CNC programming team and looking for skilled programmers to help increase our production bandwidth. This role is ideal for someone experienced in 5-axis CNC programming who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating closely with project managers to develop efficient, high-quality mold fabrication strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret CAD models and production tickets to develop CNC machining strategies
- Program 5-axis toolpaths for complex architectural components
- Break large 3D models into manageable, machine-ready sections
- Collaborate with project managers to determine optimal build approaches (mold vs. plug/tool)
- Develop machining solutions for:
- Solid glue-ups
- Hybrid rib kits
- Optimize programs for efficiency, material usage, and surface quality
- Work with provided post processors and machine kinematics data
- Troubleshoot and refine programs during production as needed
Tools & Technology
Our team currently works across multiple CAM platforms, including:
Experience with any of these is valuable, but we welcome programmers from diverse CAM backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
- Strong understanding of machining strategies for complex geometries
- Ability to work from CAD files and 3D models (.sat files and similar formats)
- Experience breaking down large-scale parts into machinable components
- Strong problem-solving and spatial reasoning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with architectural, mold-making, or composite fabrication processes
- Familiarity with DMS or Motion Master CNC machines
- Knowledge of tooling for foam, wood, composites, or similar mold materials
- Experience with glue-up assemblies and ribbed structures
- Active, self-owned CAD/CAM seat (e.g., SolidWorks/CAMWorks, Powermill and SurfCam) with valid programming license. (CAM software not necessary)
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on unique, large-scale architectural projects
- Collaborative and highly skilled team environment
- Access to advanced 5-axis CNC equipment
- Flexible programming workflows and software diversity
Please add information of the following when applying
