We are seeking an experienced Commercial Asst. Landscape Project Manager to oversee complex multifamily landscape construction projects from contract award through final completion. This role requires expertise in managing large-scale commercial developments, particularly garden style, wrap and podium-style construction projects requiring crane work and specialized equipment operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, process adherence, and the ability to coordinate multiple project phases while maintaining our reputation for quality and efficiency in the Southern California market.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution

• Manage commercial landscape construction projects ranging from $750K to $3M+ in contract value
• Oversee multifamily residential developments, with emphasis on market-rate and affordable housing projects
• Coordinate complex wrap and podium-style construction projects requiring specialized equipment and crane operations
• Ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline parameters
• Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and subcontractor coordination

Financial & Cost Management

• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets and cost tracking systems
• Utilize our online cloud based project management software for changes, RFI, and Project Documentation.
• Draft, Process change orders, ensuring proper documentation and client receipt and approval
• Coordinate with accounting team for accurate job costing and financial reporting

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead Internal Project Engineers for daily tasks and assignments attributed to daily operations
• Work closely with estimating team (Lead Estimator, Project Engineers) during pre-construction phase
• Collaborate with Operations Coordinator and Purchasing Manger for equipment rentals, and resource management
• Interface with Purchasing department for material procurement and vendor coordination

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to project specifications, local codes, and industry best practices
• Submittal review, submittal, and follow through
• Oversee warranty closeouts and documentation and all as-built drawing completion
• Maintain safety standards and compliance with OSHA regulations and asset in report drafting

Specialized Services Coordination

• Oversee installation of synthetic turf and tot lot applications
• Coordinate architectural pottery fabrication and installation
• Manage area and storm drainage installations behind curb
• Coordinate with nurseries, external and internal, for material procurement and staging

Required QualificationsExperience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Applicaple Business Degree, or related field preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of commercial landscape construction project management experience REQUIRED. No Inexperienced candidates will be considered.
• Proven track record managing projects $1M+ in contract value
• Experience with multifamily residential developments strongly preferred
• Knowledge of complex construction methodologies (wrap/podium construction) highly valued
• Previous Commercial Landscape Project Management Experience highly preferred. No Cross Project Manager training is available.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in project management software and scheduling tools
• Advanced knowledge cloud based project management software/ familiar with Sage 300 CRE preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent Excel skills for cost tracking and reporting
• Understanding of irrigation systems, hardscape installation, and landscape construction methods

Leadership & Communication

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and resolve conflicts
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

Industry Knowledge

• Thorough understanding of California landscape construction regulations and codes
• Knowledge of prevailing wage requirements and bonding processes
• Familiarity with SWPPS protocols and environmental compliance
• Understanding of equipment operations and heavy machinery coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications (PMP, LEED, Landscape Industry Certified)
• Experience with value engineering and cost optimization strategies
• Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) for effective field communication
• Previous experience in Southern California construction market
• Knowledge of botanical plant names, material procurement processes, and familiar with irrigation best practices

Pay: $85,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
