For over 60 years, Calvary Healing Center has provided a full continuum of care, specializing in addiction treatment for adults across the Phoenix area and Nationwide. Calvary’s proven treatment programs address the practical, physical, and spiritual aspects of addiction for lasting recovery. Our flagship location in Phoenix offers onsite detoxification and in-patient treatment programs, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). We also have satellite clinics offering Intensive Outpatient Programs in the West Valley region and Metropolitan Phoenix. Through our programs we offer many other holistic healing and treatment options complementing our services ranging from yoga, art workshops, and music.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Utilization Review Manager (URM) to oversee and coordinate the utilization review process within our healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and policies. As a member of our clinical team, the URM will ensure that patient care is delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all applicable standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team committed to optimizing patient outcomes and resource utilization across diverse care settings.

Duties

• Lead and supervise the utilization review team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality case management and clinical assessment.
• Oversee the review of medical records, documentation, and care plans to verify appropriateness of services in accordance with healthcare policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including nursing, social work, behavioral health, and medical staff—to develop comprehensive discharge plans and coordinate patient care transitions.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations.
• Manage data collection processes related to utilization metrics, patient assessments, and documentation review to support quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate team management activities aimed at fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes leadership development within clinical teams.

URM Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in social work, mental health, or nursing degree.
• A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
• Experience in treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entites.
• Valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Completion of BLS & First Aid Certification, within 30 days of employment.
• Completion of Handle With Care Training, within 30 days of employment
