Primary Summary of Position:

The Production Operator/Driver plays a key role in feed manufacturing and delivery operations. This position is responsible for producing quality feed products according to established formulas and specifications, operating feed mill equipment safely and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment. The employee supports all aspects of mill operations, including mixing, bagging, loading, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping. In addition, the position is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of feed products while adhering to company policies, biosecurity standards, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, OSHA requirements, FSMA guidelines, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. A strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer service is essential.

Responsibilities of the Position:

• Operate feed mill equipment and assist in the manufacturing of feed products according to established formulas and quality standards.
• Prepare and complete feed mixes accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules.
• Load bulk and bagged feed products while following procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assist with bagging, packaging, labeling, and storage of feed products.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of mill equipment and facilities.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and delivery records.
• Ensure sales tickets and required documentation are completed accurately prior to loading and delivery.
• Deliver feed products to customer locations and production facilities in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment before operation and report maintenance needs.
• Unload feed products into designated bins, warehouses, or storage areas according to customer specifications.
• Follow all biosecurity, BSE, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the mill and loading areas.
• Assist with inventory management, ingredient handling, and receiving of incoming products as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and customer interactions.
• Support seasonal operational needs and assist other departments when required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
• Ability to operate forklift and warehouse machinery
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and have good leg and finger dexterity
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Have a good driving record
