KACK ENTERPRISE LLC is a United States Postal Service contractor. We are seeking a safety-conscious and reliable Full-Time CDL Class B Box Truck Driver to join our team in a fast-paced operation. We have an immediate full-time CDL B Box Truck Driver position available on local routes in Wilmington, NC. This is a touch freight position.

Pay:

• $32.95 per hour (Pay Breakdown: $27.40 per hour plus a $5.55 per hour Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit, paid for up to 80 hours per pay period)
• Company Driver position
• Paid bi-weekly
• Paid training and ride-along
• 24/7 dispatch support

Schedule:

• Full Time driver position, at least 40 hours per week
• Driver will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (once a month)
• Off DUTY on Thursday and 3 Sundays a month
• All routes include a late morning unpaid layover (split-shift). The truck must layover at the Post Office.

Schedule Overview:

Monday and Tuesday - Total paid route hours each day are 8 hours 44 minutes.

The route starts at approximately 4:30 AM at the Myrtle Grove Post Office where the driver will load the box truck. The driver will also travel to the Azalea Post Office to load mail. The driver will transport the mail to the Magnolia Post Office where the driver will off load the mail. Route ends at approximately 8:16 AM.

The driver then has an unpaid, off duty layover (split-shift). The layover will be at the ending location of the morning route schedule.

After the off-duty layover, the driver must report back to work at 1:41 PM. The driver will collect/load mail from the Magnolia Post Office. The driver will return to the Myrtle Grove Post Office to offload the mail. Route ends at 6:39 PM.

Wednesday– Total paid route hours is 9 hours and 11 minutes.

The route starts at 4:30 AM at the postal facility at the Myrtle Grove Post Office where the driver will load the box truck. Then, the driver will transport the mail to the Wilmington Main Post Office to offload. The driver makes two consecutive trips. Route ends at approximately 7:41 AM.

The driver then has an unpaid, off duty layover (split-shift). The layover will be at the ending location of the morning route schedule.

After the off-duty layover, the driver must report back to work at 12:55 PM. The driver will collect/load mail from the Wilmington Main Post Office. The driver will return to the Myrtle Grove Post Office to offload the mail. The route will end at approximately 6:55 PM.

Thursday - Off duty.

Friday - Total paid route hours are approximately 7 hours 40 hours.

The route starts at approximately 5:30 AM at the postal facility at the Myrtle Grove Post Office where the driver will load the box truck. Then, the driver will transport the mail to the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Post Offices. The driver will offload the mail. Route ends at approximately 8:13 AM.

The driver then has an unpaid, off duty layover (split-shift). The layover will be at the ending location of the morning route schedule.

After the off-duty layover, the driver must report back to work at 1:00 PM. The driver will collect/load mail from the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach Post Offices. The driver will return to Myrtle Grove Post Office to offload the mail and the route will end at approximately 5:57 PM.

Saturday - Total paid route hours are 6 hours 41 minutes.

Route starts at approximately 4:25 AM at the postal facility at the Myrtle Grove Post Office where the driver will load the box truck. The driver will transport the load to Dogwood and Azalea Post Offices. The driver will off load the mail at each Post Office location. Route ends at 8:06 AM.

The driver then has an unpaid, off duty layover(split-shift). The layover will be at the ending location of the morning route schedule.

After the off-duty layover, the driver must report back to work at 12:56 PM. The driver will collect/load mail from the Dogwood and Azalea Post Offices, making multiple trips in between Post Offices. The driver will return to Myrtle Grove Post Office to offload the mail and the route will end at 3:56 PM.

Sunday -Total paid route hours are 2 hours. )The driver will be expected to work 1 Sunday a month.)

Route starts at 7:30 AM at the Myrtle Grove, NC Post Office. The driver will load the box truck and transport the mail to the Azalea and Magnolia Post Offices. The driver will unload the mail at both Post Offices. The driver will then return to the Myrtle Grove Post Office and the route ends at 9:30 AM.

Drivers are responsible for:

• Picking up, transporting, and delivering bulk U.S. Mail using a tractor trailer.
• Physically loading and unloading mail using APCs, BMCs, and other rolling containers, and perform any other duties assigned by management.
• Collecting mail involves physically loading a tractor/trailer with rolling containers of mail.
• Dropping off mail requires physically offloading the trailer.
• Completing assigned routes and related duties safely and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class B
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that reflects safety consciousness (limited minor violations may be considered)
• Ability to pass: Postal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Skills and Requirements:

• Ability to safely maneuver and back in tight spaces
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Maintain logs and transportation documentation
• Use navigation and route tools including: GPS, Smartphone (required), Google Maps and/or MapQuest, and the Samsara App
• Detailed knowledge of and ability to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including: Hours of Service (HOS), Vehicle inspections, and Transportation safety requirements
• Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to: Time-sensitive deliveries, Traffic delays, and various weather conditions
• Ability to maintain safe operating practices while managing the physical and mental demands of commercial driving.
