Petitt Family Law is a woman-owned firm located in Allen, Texas.. We want to add an experienced paralegal to our litigation team.
Ideal candidate requirements:
Must have working knowledge of the Texas Family Code, family law processes, pleadings, orders, motions etc.
Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience with a minimum of the last 3 in Texas family law.
Must understand how to prioritize and reprioritize your tasks and workload as issues arise during the workweek or day.
Most important skills:
Must be organized and willing to reorganize as priorities shift.
Must have extensive experience with client intake and client counseling in family law matters and a willingness to conduct client intake and counseling as needed.
Must be technologically savvy and familiar with MS Suite of programs, using the TFLPM /FormBuilder, Efile Texas, ShareFile, Adobe/Kofax etc. Experience with Clio Manage and Clio Grow is preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, other paralegals, court staff, experts, etc. This role will require you to provide a compassionate ear for clients who need it.
Must be tenacious and focused on meeting deadlines for inventories and discovery.
Must be able to prepare attorney for hearings, including temporary hearings and trials and mediation. You may be required to attend trials or hearings as needed on cases to manage exhibits, clients and witnesses.
Must be able to track all case and internal deadlines on Outlook calendar for attorney and for yourself.
Must maintain a strong sense of initiative and be able to work autonomously to complete projects with little oversight. Some court appearances in Collin County and NTX counties will be required. Hybrid/remote options available after probation period.
Minimum required billing of 120/hours per month. Salary commensurate with experience.
