Moshier Composite Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Gel Coat Finisher to join our growing team. This position is responsible for finishing high-end composite molds, plugs, and fiberglass parts to an exceptional cosmetic standard. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing flawless surfaces and has experience sanding, buffing, polishing, and repairing gel coat.

This is a hands-on position working on custom marine tooling and components where quality is more important than production speed.

Responsibilities

• Sand, buff, polish, and finish gel-coated molds, plugs, and fiberglass parts.
• Repair imperfections including pinholes, air bubbles, scratches, chips, and surface defects.
• Wet sand through various grits to achieve Class A finishes.
• Buff and polish using rotary polishers and appropriate compounds.
• Perform gel coat touch-ups and color matching when necessary.
• Inspect parts for cosmetic quality before delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work closely with mold builders, laminators, and project managers to meet production schedules.
• Properly use PPE and follow shop safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience finishing gel coat, fiberglass, automotive paint, marine refinishing, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to identify and repair cosmetic surface defects.
• Experience with DA sanders, longboards, polishers, and finishing compounds.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
