Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Bambara Language Experts to support AI Training and evaluation initiatives. In this role, you will contribute to improving next-generation AI systems by applying your expertise in Bambara language translation, editing, proofreading, and linguistic analysis.

This is not a traditional translation role. Contributors will work on AI training and evaluation workflows designed to improve how AI systems understand, generate, and process Bambara-language content in real-world contexts.

No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is strong linguistic expertise, cultural understanding, and the ability to ensure high-quality language data for model training.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate content into and from Bambara with high accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Edit and proofread Bambara-language data to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and developers to annotate and improve Bambara datasets for machine learning models.
• Develop and review linguistic resources, including glossaries and reference materials in Bambara.
• Provide insights on idioms, expressions, and cultural context to improve AI language understanding.
• Participate in team discussions, offering linguistic feedback and recommendations.
• Evaluate language outputs to ensure accuracy and alignment with project standards.
• Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines and maintain high linguistic quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Bambara.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bambara and English.
• Proven experience in translation, editing, linguistics, or language data work.
• Ability to accurately translate complex ideas while preserving meaning and cultural context.
• Experience working with language datasets, annotation tasks, or AI-related language projects is highly valued.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to AI training, NLP, or language technology projects.
• Background in linguistics, translation studies, or applied language work.
• Experience working in multicultural or distributed teams.
• Familiarity with computational linguistics or language technology tools.
