Essential Functions
1. Structural Design & Layouts: Perform structural design and layouts of prestressed and precast concrete elements, including beams, columns, wall panels, piles, and related systems.
2. Modeling & Detailing: Develop detailed 3D models and shop drawings for precast concrete systems, cast-in-place foundations, and miscellaneous structural components using industry-standard CAD software. Familiar with Typical reinforcement of various precast elements and detailing in accordance with ACI specifications.
3. Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings to develop accurate precast solutions.
4. Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, detailers, production teams, and field personnel to align design intent with fabrication and erection requirements.
5. Project Support: Respond to RFIs, submittals, and design revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Code Compliance: Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including IBC, ACI, and PCI requirements.
7. Value Engineering: Support optimization and cost-effective design solutions for precast systems.
8. Production & Erection Support: Provide technical assistance during fabrication and field erection, including troubleshooting design and constructability issues.
9. Detailing Support & Development: Mentor and support detailing personnel to ensure alignment with engineering design intent and improve team capabilities.
10. Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills for Success
1. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of precast/prestressed concrete design, including PCI standards, load paths, and connection design.
2. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software such as Tekla Structures, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, or other similar platforms.
3. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of precast production processes, erection methods, and constructability considerations.
4. Drawing Interpretation: Ability to interpret construction drawings and translate them into accurate models and designs.
5. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
7. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
1. Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in precast/prestressed concrete design and/or detailing.
Strong experience in 3D CAD modeling and detailing.
2. Industry Experience: Experience in construction, industrial, or related structural environments preferred.
3. Pre-Employment Requirements: Must successfully complete drug screening, physical testing, and all required onboarding.
4. Education (Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
5. Licensure (Preferred): Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
