This position is designed for someone who is eager to learn the roofing industry, develop technical skills, and gain hands-on experience supporting an experienced estimating team.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimators with preparing commercial roofing project bids and proposals.
• Learn and utilize estimating and takeoff software.
• Complete pre-bid documentation and project qualification requirements.
• Coordinate and perform roof core cuts and field investigations under supervision.
• Gather project information, photographs, measurements, and field data.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
• Organize bid documents and maintain project records.
• Research materials, manufacturers, and vendor information.
• Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, project managers, and team members.
• Support the estimating department with administrative and project-related tasks.
• Participate in training opportunities and professional development activities.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed education in construction management, engineering, business, architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn construction estimating and commercial roofing systems.
• Comfortable working both in an office environment and in the field.
• Must be comfortable with heights, climbing ladders, and accessing roofs with proper safety equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in construction, roofing, engineering, or project management.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with construction software, takeoff software, or CAD programs.
• Previous internship, trade school, construction, or field experience.
