Job Title: AmeriCorps Coordinator
Reports to: AmeriCorps Program Manager
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $50,000–$56,000 Annually
Location: Remote
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the SCA AmeriCorps Program Manager, the AmeriCorps Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the administrative operations of SCA's AmeriCorps portfolio, including the Education Award Program, National Direct, and State AmeriCorps programs. This position ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of member records throughout the full lifecycle of service, with a primary focus on education award processing, member enrollments, exits, and related documentation. The AmeriCorps Coordinator is responsible for administering education awards in accordance with AmeriCorps regulations, grant requirements, and SCA's established policies, procedures, and uniform administrative practices. The position maintains data integrity across multiple systems, monitors member eligibility and compliance, processes required documentation, and supports reporting and recordkeeping activities to ensure program accountability.
In addition to core administrative responsibilities, this role serves as a primary point of contact for internal staff, members, and external stakeholders, providing responsive customer service and technical guidance on AmeriCorps education award eligibility and redemption, member service requirements, and administrative processes. The AmeriCorps Coordinator collaborates across departments to improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality AmeriCorps programming while maintaining compliance with federal regulations and organizational standards.
Job Responsibilities
AmeriCorps Member and Program Administration:
- Processes SCA AmeriCorps members in eGrants system including invitations, enrollments, exits, and suspensions
- Tracks AmeriCorps fulfillment and monitors SCA AmeriCorps award inventory
- Review timesheets, output logs, evaluations, surveys, and other required member documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy for grant compliance, participant exits, and reporting requirements
- Meets weekly with the SCA AmeriCorps team to review AmeriCorps compliance requirements, address program challenges, and identify opportunities to improve program delivery
- Participates in AmeriCorps conferences, site monitoring visits, and trainings
Program Improvements:
- Continuously improves processes and procedures to strengthen compliance, promote consistency in AmeriCorps administration, and enhance program efficiency and effectiveness
Internal SCA Engagement:
- Liaise with HR and Program Managers for member and leader onboarding processes, particularly as pertains to AmeriCorps background checks
- Collaborate with SCA Advisors to ensure the timely completion and submission of member timesheets, output logs, and all required documentation supporting AmeriCorps participation, compliance, and successful program completion and exit
- Supports SCA's efforts as requested in connecting AmeriCorps alumni to member continuum
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as experience working with programmatic partners, member administrative support, and data management
- Strong communication skills when working with various external and internal constituents
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience working with youth from racially and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- AmeriCorps experience preferred
- Experience with AmeriCorps eGrants system preferred
