Job Summary:
Assists the Director of Christian Science Nurses Training (DCSNT) in overseeing and directing the BA’s Christian Science Nurses Training (CSNT) Department and Christian Science Nurses Training School and coordinating with other departments in the organization.
Assists the DCSNT in overseeing the Christian Science Nursing Arts (CSNA) Training Program to ensure that training in the classroom and the mentoring instruction of those enrolled in the program is:
Reflective of the Manual By-law requirements for the “Christian Science Nurse”
In compliance with the standards and requirements of CSNA Training Program
In compliance with accreditation standards of The Commission for Accrediting of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc.
In conjunction with the DCSNT, serves as a resource for approved CSNA training schools and sites regarding classroom and mentoring instruction in the CSNA.
Qualifications:
Meets the requirements and upholds the standard of the Manual By-law, “Christian Science Nurse.”
Understands and supports the healing mission of the BA.
Class-taught Christian Scientist by an authorized Christian Science teacher and an active member of The Mother Church, and a branch church or local member of The Mother Church.
Currently listed as a Christian Science nurse in The Christian Science Journal and has a reputable, sound, and substantial Christian Science nursing practice.
Has successfully completed a Christian Science nurses training program.
Has had experience and expertise in the classroom teaching and mentoring instruction of Christian Science nursing and supervisory/management experience and expertise.

The Benevolent Association was established in 1916 in response to Mary Baker Eddy’s request of The Mother Church. Each position at the BA is there to support the fulfillment of its purpose of healing. The BA is located on 24.2 acres of gardens and woodlands within minutes of downtown Boston.
Employees enjoy housing in surrounding communities, on the campus itself in the Carriage House apartments (for Journal-listed Christian Science nurses), or in rooms in the historic Original Building. On-site staff housing is subject to availability. Restaurants, shopping, and theaters are within walking distance.
The Boston area is home to a community of Christian Scientists, many of whom work in the Christian Science movement. The Mother Church is just minutes away, and there are a number of branch churches in the surrounding area. Longyear Museum is located just across the street from the BA.

During late-morning small gatherings to hear the Bible Lesson
One-on-one sharing of the Bible, Mrs. Eddy’s writings, and other authorized Christian Science literature
At a hymn sing
For group sing-a-alongs or concerts
Teaching art, a movement class, etc.
Sharing a hobby, such as birding, photography, travel, crafts, etc.
Reading and discussing a book
Discussing The Christian Science Monitor
Working in the BA’s extensive gardens
Helping with painting and building projects
Providing office support
