Job Summary
micro1 is engaging Statistics Experts (PhD) to contribute their advanced subject-matter expertise to a high-impact AI training project for a customer. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.
This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity for statistics experts who are passionate about applying their knowledge to emerging AI technologies. You will help develop and evaluate high-quality statistical content that improves AI reasoning across both theoretical and applied statistics.
No prior AI experience is required. Your statistical expertise and analytical skills are what matter most.
Scope of Work
- Produce accurate, well-reasoned, and technically rigorous responses to advanced statistics questions for AI training and evaluation.
- Review and validate statistical data, queries, and solutions to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current best practices.
- Develop comprehensive explanations covering foundational and advanced statistical concepts for diverse technical audiences.
- Collaborate with annotation leads and project managers to refine project guidelines and maintain high-quality standards.
- Create "golden responses" that serve as benchmark examples for future AI model training.
- Document statistical reasoning, assumptions, and methodology to improve data quality and AI interpretability.
- Participate in remote discussions and collaborative reviews to ensure consistency across project deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Statistics or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Strong expertise across multiple areas of statistics, including probability theory, statistical inference, Bayesian statistics, experimental design, biostatistics, computational statistics, regression analysis, multivariate analysis, and statistical modeling.
- Experience authoring, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational statistical content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to methodological rigor and technical accuracy.
- Experience with MySQL and advanced data analysis techniques.
- Experience with AI, data annotation, benchmarking, or technical content development is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a remote, distributed team environment.
