Overview
The Research & Development (R&D) Department is responsible for driving innovation by researching, designing, developing, and improving products, processes, and technologies that support the organization's strategic goals. The department works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for product enhancement, evaluate new technologies, and ensure solutions meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities include conducting research and feasibility studies, developing prototypes, testing and validating new products or processes, analyzing data, documenting findings, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The R&D team also monitors industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments to maintain the organization's market leadership.
The department is expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines, budgets, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Strong collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Operations is essential to successfully transition new concepts from development through commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to develop new products, technologies, or process improvements.
- Design, test, validate, and refine prototypes and product concepts.
- Analyze technical data and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and quality systems.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
- Support intellectual property initiatives, including patents and technical documentation where applicable.
Experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with research methodologies, testing, and data analysis.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related field (requirements may vary by organization).

Pay: $31,200.00 - $59,274.39 per year
