Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic, high-energy, and adaptable staff to thrive in our fast-paced environment at Chances ADP. Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing dedicated support to individuals with IDD, primarily assisting them with toileting, eating, and other activities of daily living (ADLs). You'll bring a positive and energetic approach to your work, closely implementing individualized support plans, promoting independence, and facilitating active social engagement, all while managing a dynamic and changing daily schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with IDD in accordance with their individualized support plans, maintaining a high level of engagement in a fast-paced setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and transportation, with a focus on promoting independence and active participation, while adapting to sudden schedule changes.
• Facilitate social engagement and participation in dynamic community-based activities.
• Implement behavior support plans and promote positive behavior management techniques, utilizing a proactive and energetic approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide pre-employment training and support, including resume building, interview skills, and workplace etiquette, with a focus on motivating and inspiring individuals, while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of individual progress and activities.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and high-energy inclusive environment.
• Transport individuals to and from activities as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
• Experience working with individuals with IDD (preferred).
• High level of energy and enthusiasm.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and person-centered planning.
• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
