SHIPPING ASSISTANT MANAGER
Looking for a job? Look elsewhere.
Looking for a craft — at a place where your brain, your standards, and your work ethic actually matter? Read on.
We're Laudisi — the people behind Smokingpipes.com, Peterson of Dublin, Cornell & Diehl, Caldwell Cigars, Low Country Pipe & Cigar, and a handful of other brands you've probably never heard of (but our customers are obsessed with). We ship hundreds of orders a day to people who notice everything. These aren't shoppers hitting "buy now" on impulse. They're enthusiasts who spent time researching, comparing, and choosing. They remember details. They'll email us about packaging.
Your role? You're the backbone of the operation — the person who makes sure our Shipping department doesn't just run, but runs like a machine. You'll lead Supervisors and Associates, deploy people where they're needed most, and hold the standard that makes customers write reviews like, "I purchased 100 different products, and there are no mistakes. Amazing!"
That's the standard. Every order. Every day. And you're the one holding the line.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO:
Manage the workflow of daily shipping operations — you understand the hourly and daily flow based on data, product launches, promotions, and performance evaluations, and you use that understanding to deploy Associates throughout the warehouse to meet business needs.
You'll also:
YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF:
You're not looking to manage. You're looking to lead.
You show up on time because that's what professionals do — and because your team is counting on you. You understand the flow of operations and can read the room: when to push, when to adjust, when to jump in yourself. When a Supervisor or Associate is struggling, you coach them up instead of writing them off. When standards slip, it bothers you — and you address it directly instead of letting it slide.
You don't just want to be good at this. You want to build a department that doesn't drop the ball. The kind of department that makes everyone else's job easier because they handled their part right.
This is a landing pad, not a parking lot. People who excel here don't stay stuck; they grow into operations management, logistics leadership, and other parts of the business as they demonstrate judgment and initiative. This is an opportunity with access to management training, ongoing mentoring, and a chance to impact Laudisi's company culture and performance as part of the leadership team.
YOU CAN EXPECT:
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
While experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics management would be nice, what we're really looking for is:
THE BOTTOM LINE:
This job isn't for everyone. It's for people who take pride in doing things right, who get frustrated when standards slip, and who want to lead a team that actually holds the line.
If you're reading this and thinking, "finally, a place that gets it" — apply below.
If you're reading this and thinking, "Wow, they sound intense" — we probably are. And that's fine. There are plenty of other jobs out there.
But if you want to be part of something where your effort matters, where quality isn't negotiable, and where showing up means actually showing up?
We're building something here. Come help us build it right.
