JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the Hospitality Manager (HM), the Environmental Services Technician (EST) will maintain the general sanitation of all areas in HONOR facilities. The EST will be responsible for maintaining safety, sanitation and cleanliness (according to HONOR disinfecting and sanitization policy and procedures) in the Main building “Facility” (38 Seward Ave Middletown) and must be able to travel to Ecclesia house (EH), Steven Saunders Residences (SSR) and A Friends House(AFH) for cleanings of those facilities when required.

ESTs may be exposed to hazardous waste such as used needles, tainted linens, as well as disease transmitted by touch or airborne particles. Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas to maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition. Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times; Follows safety practices including, but not limited to: floor signage, locked closets and properly stored chemicals.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Must have and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license.

3. Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work with residents and staff.

4. Must have competent interpersonal abilities (friendly, courteous, helpful, ability to work as part of a team).

5. Must be able to relate to and engage with ill, disabled, mentally ill, substance abusers and at times hostile people.

6. Ability to follow oral and written directions and communicate orally and in writing issues related to work assignments

7. Familiarity with industrial cleaners and chemicals and be able to use them safely. Must be able to follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines when using harsh, toxic cleaning chemicals.

8. Must be able to twist, squat and bend into different positions frequently; stand for several hours; lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds.

Shifts Available:

• Shift Option A (Part-time)- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday | 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Shift Option B (Part-time) - Friday, Saturday, Sunday | 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
