We're looking for a Field Engineer who thrives on solving technical challenges, supporting field operations, and coordinating projects from planning through execution. This role combines engineering support, project coordination, and hands-on field involvement to ensure repower projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do
As a Field Engineer, you'll provide technical and operational support throughout the lifecycle of wind turbine repower projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the planning and execution of wind turbine repower projects from kickoff through completion.
- Coordinate project activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Assist with major component exchanges, engineering modifications, technical troubleshooting, and field problem resolution.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and overall project progress while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Ensure all work complies with OEM specifications, engineering requirements, customer expectations, and company quality standards.
- Perform field quality inspections and document engineering changes, technical modifications, and project milestones.
- Promote and support a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA, GWO, customer, and company safety requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, project updates, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with developing and improving project procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Travel to wind project sites throughout North America to provide on-site engineering and project support.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in the wind energy industry with demonstrated experience supporting field operations, repower projects, or major component exchanges.
- Experience supporting or leading wind turbine maintenance, repower activities, or major component exchanges.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and OEM documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GE, Vestas, and/or SGRE wind turbine platforms.
- OEM Competency Certifications (Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Major Components, etc.).
- Certification in troubleshooting turbine alarms and faults.
- GWO Basic Safety Training (BST)
- GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NFPA 70E
- Confined Space Certification
- Rigger Certification
- Class 7 Forklift Certification
- Hand & Radio Signal Certification
- Hazard Communication Training
- GE Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) or equivalent
Travel
This position requires approximately 50% or more travel to wind projects throughout North America, including occasional extended stays during active project execution.
