Summary:
The Electrical Panel Builder is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels and systems used in manufacturing operations. This role requires the ability to interpret electrical schematics, follow technical specifications, and ensure all assemblies meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical control panels, junction boxes, and related components based on engineering drawings and schematics
- Mount and install electrical devices such as circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, and transformers
- Perform point-to-point wiring and cable routing in accordance with design specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of completed panels to ensure proper operation
- Identify and correct wiring or component issues during assembly and testing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Follow company procedures, industry codes (e.g., NEC, UL), and quality guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve design or assembly challenges
- Document work performed, including inspections and test results
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- Proven experience in electrical panel building, wiring, or industrial electrical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters)
- Strong understanding of electrical components and control systems
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in electrical technology or related field
- Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation
- Knowledge of UL508A standards or similar electrical codes
- Knowledge of Wire Harness assembly standard IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
