The Opportunity:
We have the location. We have the wine and the craft cocktails. We have the guests. What we're looking for is you — a chef with a concept, a point of view, and the drive to build something genuinely exciting on Chestnut Street.
Cultivar is a California wine brand rooted in the idea that great wine deserves great context. Our Chestnut Street location is a fully equipped kitchen with a full liquor license, ready for a culinary partner who sees food, wine, and local spirits as a single conversation — not separate menus. We are open to the right employment arrangement or a deeper partnership. What matters most is your vision and your energy.
What We're Looking For:
This is not a role for someone who wants to execute someone else's playbook. We want a chef with their own concept — the food they want to cook, the experience they want to create, the neighborhood they want to feed. Chestnut Street is one of San Francisco's most vibrant dining corridors and our guests are curious, engaged, and adventurous.
Bring us your concept. Show us how it plays alongside Cultivar's California wines, a full bar program, and the local spirits scene. Surprise us.
You Are:
- A chef with a defined culinary point of view and the confidence to own it
- Genuinely excited by wine and food pairing — not as a formality, but as a creative opportunity
- Curious about cocktails, local spirits, and how a full bar program elevates the dining experience
- Full of ideas: for menus, events, collaborations, and making Chestnut Street a destination
- Energetic, entrepreneurial, and ready to build — not maintain
- Experienced running a full kitchen and leading a team with high standards
- Someone who eats, drinks, and thinks about hospitality even when you're off the clock
What You'll Bring:
- A culinary concept ready to be realized — or close enough that you can pitch it clearly
- Seasonal, California-forward thinking that feels natural alongside our wine program
- Fresh angles on wine and food pairing — approachable for guests, interesting for enthusiasts
- A collaborative spirit with the Cultivar team on programming, club events, and special evenings
- The ambition to make this one of the best food, wine, and cocktail experiences in the city
What This Location Brings:
- A fully equipped kitchen at a prime Chestnut Street location in San Francisco
- A full liquor license — wine, spirits, cocktails, all on the table
- An established wine club and loyal guest base hungry for something new
- A wine program built around California varietals with genuine depth and range
- Flexibility on structure — employment, partnership, or residency — let's talk
- A brand that values creativity, quality, and people who push things forward
- The platform. The guests. The wines. The bar. You bring the rest.
