ABOUT OLIVELLE
Olivelle is a multi-faceted, dynamic company rooted in specialty food retail and specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of high-quality oils, vinegars, herbs, and spices to boutique retailers across the country. We are a one-stop shop for our retailers, and their success depends on what we do and how we perform.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Oil & Vinegar Manufacturing Associate is essential to producing the high-quality infused oils and vinegars our retailers depend on. This is a physically active role — you will be on your feet throughout the day, regularly lifting 50 lb boxes and moving product across the facility. Just as important, you take pride in following recipes precisely and keeping a clean, detail-oriented workspace. We are looking for someone who is physically fit, thrives on hands-on work, and finds satisfaction in consistency and craftsmanship.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Physical Stamina — Stand and move for extended periods and regularly lift 50 lb boxes throughout the shift.
- Production & Infusion — Manufacture, infuse, and package oils and vinegars, following recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
- Bulk Handling — Handle, blend, and transfer bulk oils and vinegars, including drums, totes, and other large containers, using pumps and proper lifting and pouring techniques while minimizing spillage and waste.
- Bottling Line — Set up, operate, and monitor the bottling line (filling, capping, sealing, and labeling), ensuring accurate fill levels, secure seals, and correct label placement. Line Changeovers — Perform product changeovers and complete startup, shutdown, and sanitation of bottling equipment between production runs.
- Scaling Production — Follow recipes accurately and scale production as required, ensuring consistency and quality throughout.
- Clean Workspace — Maintain a clean, organized, and detail-oriented workspace through regular maintenance and general cleaning.
- Food Safety — Follow all food safety protocols while working around common food allergens like dairy, soy, or sesame.
- Inventory & FIFO — Support inventory management by ensuring accurate stock rotation and following FIFO and lean manufacturing guidelines.
- Equipment Operation — Operate manufacturing equipment proficiently, such as but not limited to large scales, pumps, and pallet jacks.
- Team Collaboration — Work independently and stay self-motivated while prioritizing tasks and collaborating with teammates.
- Cross-Training — Cross-train in other manufacturing tasks such as labeling, capping, and filling.
- Adaptability — Adapt readily to new protocols and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
- Flexibility — Take on all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of this role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and moving throughout the shift and regularly lifting 50 lb boxes.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and repetitive motions throughout the day.
- Regular exposure to strong aromas from essential oils, infused oils, and vinegars; the ability to work comfortably around these scents is essential.
- Work is performed in a food manufacturing facility with hard flooring and potentially wet or slippery surfaces; slip-resistant, closed-toe footwear is required.
EXPERIENCE
On-the-job training is provided, but prior experience with food safety, manufacturing, or basic warehouse equipment (such as a pallet jack) is a plus. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred, and all team members must be willing to obtain a food handler / ServSafe certification if not already held.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Attention to detail
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Strong organization skills
- Positive, clear communication
- Independence to work with minimal supervision
- A team player who works well with others
- Dependable attendance and punctuality — shows up when scheduled, on time, and ready to work
