What is Fire Watch? It is not as scary as it sounds. When hotels are in need of a sprinkler system or alarm system repair they need fire watchers to stay on the premises until the issue is fixed and monitor for potential fire hazards and call 911 incase of emergency. That and maintain a watch log during your shift and you're done. CREATE YOUR OWN SCHEDULE!!!

$15-$17 an hour. (+5 for Holidays)

As a Fire Watcher, you will be responsible for monitoring designated areas to prevent fire hazards, conducting inspections, and maintaining a vigilant presence to safeguard personnel and property. Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous surveillance of construction sites or designated areas to detect potential fire hazards or unsafe conditions
• Monitor fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems.
• Perform construction inspection tasks focusing on fire safety measures, ensuring adherence to safety codes and regulations
• Maintain clear communication with site managers, emergency responders, and team members during incidents or safety concerns
• Document all observations, inspections, and safety checks accurately in reports and logs
• Assist with system design reviews related to fire alarm and sprinkler fitting projects to ensure proper installation practices

Requirements

• Proven experience in security, construction inspection, or fire safety roles with knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting, fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with system design principles for fire detection and suppression systems
• Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations related to fire prevention
• Ability to remain alert for extended periods while monitoring multiple areas or systems
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and emergency responders
• Certification or training in security procedures, fire safety, or relevant technical fields is preferred
• Valid certifications in fire alarm systems or related areas are a plus but not mandatory
