TxDOT is hiring a Material/Process Inspector I for the North Harris Area Office Laboratory in Humble, Texas.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to perform material testing in laboratories, plants, roadways, and at points of supply. This position reports to a licensed Professional Engineer who has full authority to approve all work performed.

Performs material tests and manufacturing process inspections in laboratories, plants and/or at points of supply. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
Essential Duties:
Conducts nuclear density tests on subgrade, base and asphaltic concrete pavement.
Coordinates test and inspection results with engineers, inspectors and material producers and suppliers.
Investigates compaction problems associated with hot mix asphaltic concrete.
Maintains and calibrates equipment.
Performs tests and inspection duties.
Reports test results to field construction personnel and may assist in determining cause for material problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience: No experience required (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

ACI Cncrt Lab Test Tech- Lvl I
Aggregate Prop Spec Agg101

Subject to air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
Required to wear protective gear - respirator, hard hat, or other devices
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
Kneeling - bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s)
Hearing - perceive sound at normal speaking levels; receive information by oral communication
Close Visual Acuity - using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts
