Overview

NJIKO, meaning unity, is a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit connecting groups fighting social injustice. We're now building an app that helps people find free co-working spaces and affordable accommodation in an economy that's making both increasingly hard to come by.

We aren't starting from scratch. I have a full design system ready in Figma, and our mission is locked in. Now, I need a "scrappy" technical architect to lead the build and help turn this vision into a scalable reality.

The Ideal Partner

We are looking for a Co-Founder who values impact over expensive infrastructure. This is a volunteer position with a path to significant equity, ideal for someone who wants to build the "next great thing" using a lean, modern approach.

• Zero Ego: You are a collaborator at heart. You thrive on feedback and love whiteboarding with a partner.
• AI-Native: You don't do things the "hard way" just to prove a point. You leverage tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Replit to build at 10x speed.
• Lean Mindset: You treat the startup’s budget like your own. You know how to launch a high-quality product using free tiers and low-cost integrations.
• Inclusive Spirit: You value diverse perspectives and are excited to work with an African-led team with a global vision.

The "Lean" Tech Stack
We want to launch this MVP at near-minimum cost. Experience with (or a willingness to master) these tools is essential:

• Frontend: FlutterFlow or Flutter (Build once, deploy to iOS and Android).
• Backend: Supabase (The lean alternative to Firebase for auth, DB, and storage).
• Automation: Make.com or Zapier to connect services without writing custom "plumbing."
• Payments: Stripe integration for subscriptions and donations.

The Skills You Bring

• 2+ years of mobile software development (Junior-to-Mid level is fine if you are an AI power-user).
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON.
• Familiarity with App Store/Google Play submission processes.
• A "Product First" mindset—you care more about the user experience than the complexity of the code.
