Barrel Global is a premium barrel ownership and spirits curation company. We hold and manage whiskey and other spirits inventory stored at distilleries and bonded warehouses across the country, working directly with clients who acquire, sample, and take delivery of barrels as tangible assets.
The Role
We're looking for an organized, dependable Sample & Warehouse Operations Coordinator to serve as the single point of contact for all sample requests. You'll take in requests from our internal teams and clients, coordinate with the distilleries and warehouses that hold our inventory, and ensure every sample is pulled, packaged, and shipped accurately and on time.
Most of this work is done remotely, but you'll regularly be on-site at our Kentucky warehouses. You must live within a reasonable drive of Lancaster, KY. This role starts at a minimum of 20 hours per week with the potential to grow into a full-time position.
What You'll Do
Sample Fulfillment
- Receive, log, and process incoming sample requests from internal teams and clients
- Coordinate with distillery and warehouse teams to source correct barrels and samples
- Travel to our Kentucky warehouses as needed to pull and pick up samples in person
- Package and ship samples via our courier accounts, ensuring correct labeling, documentation, and tracking
- Keep requesters updated on status and confirm delivery
Inventory & Warehouse Organization
- Manage and organize barrel inventory at Bluegrass, our bottling and storage facility near Lancaster, KY
- Maintain a clear organization system so any barrel or sample can be located quickly
- Support inventory accuracy across our Kentucky locations, including Bluegrass and Extended Stave
- Help prepare the facility and specific barrels ahead of client visits and sampling events
Barrel Movement & Logistics
- Coordinate barrel transfers across our distillery and warehouse partners
- Manage Transfers in Bond (TIBs), ensuring paperwork and TTB documentation are accurate and complete
- Schedule and confirm dock times, pickups, and deliveries with each partner
- Work with carriers and partner teams to keep barrel movements on track
What We're Looking For
- Lives within reasonable commuting distance of Lancaster, KY and available for regular on-site work
- Strong organizational skills and reliable follow-through across many concurrent requests
- Experience with shipping, packaging, or logistics preferred
- Comfortable with physical warehouse tasks including pulling samples and moving barrels
- Clear, professional communicator over email and phone
- Reliable personal vehicle for warehouse visits (mileage reimbursed at IRS rate)
- Familiarity with TTB regulations or bonded facility operations is a plus but not required
- Experience in spirits, beverage, warehousing, or fulfillment is a plus but not required
Compensation
- $25/hour — Independent Contractor (1099)
- Part-time (20 hrs/week): approx. $2,200/month
- Full-time (40 hrs/week): approx. $4,300/month
- Bi-weekly, invoice-based payment
- Mileage reimbursed at the 2026 IRS rate (72.5¢/mile)
