Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Position Overview
The Maintenance Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced maintenance technicians and the Maintenance Manager to learn the fundamentals of industrial maintenance while adhering to plant safety rules and actively participating in safety programs. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, learning manufacturing processes, and developing foundational knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities

Learn to read and apply mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics

Assist with testing and documentation

Gain hands-on experience using a wide range of maintenance tools and equipment, including power tools, welding equipment, machining tools, and precision measuring and electrical test devices.

Learn basic wiring techniques

Escort contractor technicians as needed, documenting activities where required

Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager
Qualifications
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
-
Prior maintenance or mechanical experience is preferred.
Skills
-
Basic understanding of hand tools and common power tools
-
Basic computer skills; familiarity with CMMS software a plus

Problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability and willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed

Strong reliability demonstrated through consistent attendance and punctuality

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to work in an environment with dust and noise, and around equipment with higher than ambient temperatures.

Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
