Position Summary: The Egaming Specialist Intern is a temporary, part-time internship position responsible for the hands-on implementation, maintenance, and support of AIM’s adaptive technology and gaming equipment program. This role ensures that all technology is functioning at a high level, supports the execution of programming created by the Egaming Community Program Manager, and provides direct assistance to players. The Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the viability of the Manager’s strategic vision through technical expertise and daily operational oversight.

Essential Functions / Learning Responsibilities:
- Ensure all assistive technology and gaming equipment including VR devices, consoles, PCs, and 3D printers are properly installed, maintained, and fully functional.
- Perform routine and active maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on devices used within the Gaming Center.
- Ensure the Gaming Center remains current with the latest adaptive and gaming technology by researching, recommending, and implementing updates.
- Support the Manager’s vision by assessing the technical feasibility of proposed programs and helping bring those programs to life.
- Assist in delivering and running adaptive gaming, programming and events, providing technical support as needed.
- Interact with players regularly, offering assistance with equipment, guiding them through gaming experiences, and ensuring accessibility needs are met.
- Track and document usage, performance metrics, and maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Collaborate with staff and partners to support training and demonstrations on assistive and gaming technologies.
- Uphold the values of the Independent Living Philosophy in all player interactions and technical practices.
Role Qualifications:
Familiarity with Esports platforms, console and PC gaming hardware, and accessible technology.

Education/Relevant Experience: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to gaming, information technology, assistive technology, human services, or a related field. Prior experience with gaming or adaptive technology is a plus but not required.
Work Schedule: 15–20 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and will be determined in coordination with the supervisor. Availability during some evenings or weekends may be required based on events and Gaming Center hours.
