As Controller, you will serve as the organization’s chief accounting officer, responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting and accounting operations. You will be extremely hands-on with all the accounting and financial activity. Will lead a small team ensuring all financial processes are met with the highest standards.

You will work closely with the executive team to provide financial insights that drive business strategy, while also managing and performing the day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close and financial statement preparation along with any regulatory reporting required. The position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
• Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time
• Process accounts and collecting payments
• Oversee all payments made for debts, bank loans, and other large quantities of money
• Monitor cash and funding balances
• Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts
• Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review
• Prepare monthly, quarterly & annual financial reports
• Manage the quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts
• Advice on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and chief financial officer
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, insurance representatives and tax professionals
• Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices
• Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting
• Ensuring company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements
• Oversee and manage Colorado’s complex monthly, quarterly, annual sales & use tax returns
• Support multi-location financial coordination between offices, field operations, and accounting teams
• Understand intercompany transactions and intercompany eliminations.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Previous experience as an accountant, accounting manager, accounting supervisor, or manager

• Experience in the building materials industry

• Experience in MS Dynamics Great Plains software

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
