JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Engineering Manager in the design, planning, execution, and startup of capital improvement projects within a flavor manufacturing environment. This role will focus on process systems, facility upgrades, utilities, and MEP infrastructure while supporting company objectives related to Safety/Food Safety, Quality, Productivity, Continuous Improvement, and Regulatory Compliance.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Initiates requests for capital expenditures, provides information, and makes recommendations for strategic planning and future growth.

2. Support execution of capital projects from concept through startup and commissioning.

3. Manage projects including budgets, schedules, purchase orders, and technical documentation.

4. Assist with engineering design, equipment specifications, vendor quotations, procurement, permitting, budgeting, and project scheduling.

5. Coordinate contractors, vendors, maintenance personnel, and production teams during installations and facility modifications.

6. Develop and review plant layouts, utility requirements, P&IDs, and equipment drawings.

7. Ensure projects comply with food safety requirements, OSHA, GMP, environmental, and company engineering standards.

8. Lead equipment testing and startup activities.

9. Support plant process improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality.

10. Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and utility equipment to support operations.

11. Support cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to ensure successful project execution and implementation.

ATTRIBUTES

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of project engineering experience years in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, flavor, or fragrance environment preferred.
• Strong project management, organizational, leadership, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical documentation, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design required.
• Knowledge of process equipment, instrumentation, and controls required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD 2D required.
• Experience with spray dryers, blending systems, homogenizers, or sanitary process equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of architectural & MEP drawings is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing business needs.
• Must follow and adhere to internal and external safety, GMP, food safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and a customer-focused attitude.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
