Ritner Steel is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own the full lifecycle of structural steel projects — from contract award through final delivery. You'll be the primary point of contact for owners and general contractors, leading internal teams across detailing, fabrication, and erection to deliver on time and on budget.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple structural steel projects simultaneously, driving schedule, budget, and quality from kickoff to closeout
- Serve as the main client contact — build relationships, manage expectations, and resolve issues quickly
- Coordinate across detailing, fabrication, and field erection teams to ensure seamless handoffs and on-time delivery
- Review and approve shop drawings, erection drawings, and material schedules
- Track project budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective action
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor and vendor scopes, pricing, and schedules
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract compliance
- Conduct project meetings and site visits; maintain thorough project documentation
- Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection
- Strong understanding of structural steel processes — detailing, fabrication, and field erection
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office (Tekla, Procore, or Bluebeam experience a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong communicator and problem-solver — you keep projects moving and clients confident
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred — relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
Why Ritner Steel
- Established reputation in the structural steel industry with a strong and growing project pipeline
- Collaborative, experienced team with the resources to support your projects
- Competitive compensation and benefits package
- Opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact
